AMSOIL Twin Ports Twin 25’s This Friday Night
This Friday night, one of the Midwest’s largest WISSOTA Late Model events will take place at the Gondik Law Speedway in Superior, Wisconsin as the 14th annual Amsoil Twin Ports Twin 25’s will fire off at the high speed red clay oval.
The Twin Ports Twin 25’s began 14 years ago and has grown into a must see event in the upper Midwest with a near $30,000 payoff on the line for competitors. The event, which is a part of the Wollak Construction Challenge Series for WISSOTA Late Models, will feature twin Late Model main events, paying $1,500 to win each, with a possible $1,000 bonus if the same driver were to win both segments. Plus, many additional bonuses, certificates and contingency awards are available as well.
The multi segment event is the only of its kind in the area and provides fans with double Late Model feature action. This event also features a unique non-qualifer fund, where local fans and businesses donate to the fund, so that all drivers that happen to not make the feature will take home a substantial payout as well.
The 2017 event featured the largest regular season car count for Late Models in the area and this year should be no different with huge money on the line. Drivers from several states are expected, including 2017 winner Rick Hanestad, current Challenge Series point leader Pat Doar, current Gondik Law Speedway point leader Travis Budisalovich, veteran racers Steve Laursen and Lance Matthees, Duluth’s Darrell Nelson, Jake Redetzke, Marshall Fegers, Jeffrey Massingill, subbing for injured John Kaanta, will be AJ Diemel for this weekend’s action and national stand out Jimmy Mars will be in action this Friday night as well.
This is one event that drivers and fans from across the region circle on their calendars at the beginning of the year and is a highly anticipated event during the mid point of the summer.
Gates open at 5pm with hot laps at 6:30pm and racing beginning at 7.
WISSOTA Super Stocks and Pure Stocks will also be in competition.
