Wisconsin Modified Nationals Cancelled at Gondik Law
May 26th, 2021 – For Immediate Release
Regrettably, the Wisconsin Modified Nationals fueled by Superior Fuel Co., which was scheduled for Wednesday-Friday, May 26th-28th has been cancelled due to weather.
The Gondik Law Speedway, the Twin Ports of Duluth and Superior and the surrounding areas have received a large amount of rain over the past two weeks, which lead to a soft racing surface this past Friday night. That, coupled with more rain on Sunday and Monday, making it even more difficult on the facility and the below freezing temperatures in the upcoming late week’s forecast has caused track and event management to mutually agree to cancel the event.
Temperatures are forecasted to be in the 40s for highs and 30s for lows both Thursday and Friday and the winds are to be blowing directly off of Lake Superior, making real feel temperatures at race time feeling like in the high teens or low 20s.
To prevent anyone from traveling to Superior, the decision was made today to cancel the entire three-day event.
On the bright side, the 16th annual Wehrs Machine Minnesota Modified Nationals driven by Boston Trucking, which will be held at the Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, MN on Saturday and Sunday is on as scheduled with a 7pm start time both nights.
WISSOTA Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds and Hornets are scheduled to be in action both nights with full racing programs each night.
Tickets are available at the track beginning at 5pm each day.
For fans not able to be at the track in person, both nights will be broadcast live on PayPerView at www.WatchFYE.tv.
